BARBARA SEELIG BROWN

Barbara Seelig Brown is the author of STRESS FREE COOKING. A former fitness professional, who has always loved to cook, she returned to school while working in Corporate Fitness to study Nutrition and also earned a Certificate in Nutrition from the American Heart Association. She teaches Stress Free Cooking classes, writes a food column called Healthy Lifestyles for The Record Newspapers in Morris, Hunterdon and Somerset counties as well as contributing to Cooking Light, Garden State Woman, NJ Countryside and Inspire Your World magazines. Barbara is currently a spokesperson for Colavita USA, the President of the New York Association of Culinary Professionals and a member in good standing of the International Association of Culinary Professionals.

Barb has another mission — taking the mystery out of the culinary arts. “I want the home cook to walk into the kitchen at 6 p.m. and fix dinner in a breeze, and then sit down at the table with the family,” she says. “In the amount of time that it takes to order out and pick up a meal, you can be home preparing dinner. I would rather be at home in my bunny slippers sipping wine and eating a home-cooked meal than waiting in a takeout line.” “Barbara has a winning personality and makes cooking very approachable, tasty and beautiful,” says Betty Kaplan, program coordinator at Foster’s Gourmet Kitchen located at Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia, Pa.

Barbara is also a wife, mom, and grandmother who loves to have her family in the kitchen with her. In fact, much of her intuitive cooking skill was learned from her mother and now she is teaching her daughters-in-law and grandsons the joy of cooking at home. They also have bunny slippers and bring great joy to the Seelig Brown kitchen.
